On November 3 and 4, 2016, students in Lower School E through Upper School A, accompanied by Ms. Sharon, Mr. Ben and two parent chaperones, left school at lunchtime on Thursday to travel to cape Canaveral for an overnight visit to the Kennedy Space Center. During this visit students were exposed to a variety of simulations, including flying into the outer orbit on a shuttle, piloting a spacecraft, manipulating a robotic arm and navigating a Mars Rover, to name but a few. They went to sleep on Thursday night under the Space Shuttle Atlantis. They touched moon rocks, learned what food astronauts eat, viewed rockets from the past, present and the future, toured famous launch pads and saw how rockets are transported there. They even met an Apollo astronaut. A great experience was had by all concerned.
